Ahmed Abu Amsha
I wrote this song while standing on the ruins of my destroyed home, studio, and musical instruments in Gaza.
During the first ceasefire, I returned home and found everything gone.
The walls, the memories, the music, the life we built.
I was deeply overwhelmed. I cried while standing there… and in that moment, above the rubble of my home, I wrote this song.
Lyrics:
They destroyed our homes.
They starved our people.
They tried to kill everything inside us…
But they could not kill our voices.
This song is for Gaza.
For every family that lost a home.
For every child still dreaming under the destruction.
And for everyone who still believes that one day… we will rebuild Gaza.
Lyrics:
They destroyed my home,
They bulldozed my land — but we are not leaving.
They starved my people,
They tried to kill my hope — but we are still standing.
Despite the sorrow, despite the destruction,
Despite displacement and the siege,
One day we must return to you, my home.
My people stand strong — we will not break.
We will rebuild you, Gaza of the free.
We will rebuild Gaza
Free Palestine
